I forgot to ask around whilst at the club yesterday - does anyone play WHFB 8th?

Remember I'm a newbie to the club, so public execution or humiliation is NOT ALLOWED! affraid

Cheers

Hi Dave and everyone else! I haven't been down to the club yet but I do play mainly GW stuff, in particular Warhammer Fantasy... so if you want to organise a game sometime let me know!

 Hi Gobso,

Good stuff! I've got a large Orc and Goblin army and my son Dan has a decent sized Tomb Kings army (A units worth of painting away from being finished) so if you can get to the club on either the 7th, 14th or 21st of August, then I'd love to get a game in Very Happy

That sounds great! I can do this Wednesday, I'll be using High Elves and we can play 2000 points (or 2400 if you want more of a "tournament sized" game) or whatever you like.

Hi Daniel,

2000 points for a start sounds good to me - That'll also give us a nice points target to get Dan's Tomb Kings painted!

Will you be using the new High Elf book?

I just had a quick read through the new High Elves army list - you might want to bring a good book along too as this might be over very quickly!!! Laughing

I have to say I haven't played since 6th edition but really fancy getting back into it. It's gonna take me some time though as I need to read 8th and no doubt the empire army rule book I have is well out of date. They better still have steam tanks in there!

I just checked my copy of the Empire army list and the Steam Tank is still there! Smile

Any time you fancy having a bash around with the rules down at the club, I've got Orcs and Dan has Tomb Kings - we can have a few 'test run' games.

The rules changed quite a lot in 8th, with pre-measuring being one of the biggest changes I think.

I didn't play WHFB for quite a while, but lots of people have mentioned magic as being a game killer in 8th - did it change that much? So far I've found that my dice rolling abilities have proven to be much more catastrophic than anything else!!

Magic was a little terrifying when it was re-released but now it's only really the Dark Elves that can go crazy with magic, it's nearly balanced with all the other armies. And if you have a lot of Empire Knights and a Steam Tank then you've got a pretty good 8th edition army ready to go! Hoep to get another game down the club sometime Smile

Hi Daniel,

I've already got a game organised for the 28th, but on the following Wednesday Dan is playing Lawrence at WHFB, so if you can make it down to the club for a re-match, I'd be more than happy for another game (I've lured you in, now you'll feel the full force of the Waaagh! affraid)

2400pts??

I can't do that week because I'm playing against Lawrence with his Chaos Warriors, but Dan would love to have a game using Tomb Kings??
