Last Sunday Recce and I represented the club at the Sittingbourne show. This was our second year at the show. Alas neither of us remembered to bring a camera or thought to take photos as we went around  Crying or Very sad

The show, due to the venue mucking the hosts around, had a new format. With all the demonstration games being restricted to a 6' x 5' table. There were also 3 completions going on around these games ( more on this later ). The whole show was based in the main sports hall with a bring and buy section up in another room.

I personally thought that there was a good balance of traders, both in number and variety, to make the show viable for people to come and browse. There was a table were youngsters could make free plastic tank kits ( same as last year ). The organisers were friendly and pro active in greeting us and keeping us informed of on going competitions. Although some of this information would have been handy in advance.

The selection of demonstration games was also good and varied, especially with the table size restrictions. There was a good mix of the normal periods, with a bias towards historic games. As a good point most of the local clubs were represented. Giving this show a great chance to meet / greet fell gamers from your local area.

Our game was the 2nd Afghan war scenario we had played at the club a few times. I have a few photos of the set up which I'll post in the photo section. We actually had fun playing the game.

Back to the competitions. There were 3.
First was the most innovative game. This was won by Gravesend Gamers Guild. With a playmobil cowboy game.

Second was best painted army. This was won by us. Well Recce. The prize was £60 to be spent at the Foundry stand.
We got a limber and some more triable Afghans.

Third was best game in show. The was won by our friends the Postie Rejects with a fine 15mm Russo / Japanese game. With added balloon  Wink

I for one are looking fwd to next year as I think they are going to keep the same format.
