i have recently started collecting 10mm models for wargaming the desert war 1940 to 1942 . i am aiming to use a set of rules called megablitz . i have models by minifigs , pithead and pendraken .
does anyone else use this scale ? does anyone know much about these rules (except pete who i know does) ? any other manufacturers i should look at ?
any advice on the use of caps lock ? and why does the title have to be at least 10 characters ?

I had a copy of the rules, not sure if I still got it. I never got my head around how they were meant to work though.

i am wondering how megablitz will work myself . there is potential for quite some manouevering . i can cope with lines of romans , greeks or dwarves slugging it out . i can cope with bulky 17th century infantry formations or long lines of 18th century infantry blasting away at each other . but manouvering ! not quite sure what that is all about!!
however , i like the idea of being able to field whole divisions and corps . have a mad idea of refighting el alamein sometime in the future. although that is rather a slogging match and some of the earlier battles with more manouvering might be more interesting . but by doing el alamein i go back to my comfort zone and avoid the "M" word . or at least reduce it lots .
have now found a range of figures called action 200 on the skytrex website . seem to be much cheaper than the other ranges i have looked at .

p.s. there is some debate about my ability to justify the above "coping" statement as i can still lose quite badly with any of the above armies!!!!!

Thanks to Pete and Ben for helping me play test Megablitz last night . Until seeing the system in action i was puzzled as to how it would work .
One thing for sure need to get more painted up as although both sides had about 23 "elements" that worked out at only 2 units plus support .
It was nice to see how little respect both sides had for their HQ elements and how happy they seemed to be to throw them into combat . no respect for authority
Aim to try again on 24th June , should have at least 3 units plus support for each side

Last night was really just line them up and let them go to get an idea of how they work . The game system would definitely benefit from a scenario with objectives . A bit like what the generals hoped to achieve in the real thing i guesss

Always nice to get a project onto the table top

As the forces grow can try them out with other rules too.
