...could be helping Steve out on this!
Hi Martin,
If Steve can't take them all off your hands, I might be able to help. I could do with getting together enough figs for another tray of US and another tray of Confed infantry (ie. c. 100 figs of each) which would mean I could field 3 Corps armies rather than just 1 1/2 at present. Mainly interested in Italeri figs of either side or Imex Confeds, but Steve gets first pick and if he wants to paint enough figs to double or triple the forces at our disposal I would be delighted- as I thought I was going to go colour blind painting nothing but blue and grey on so many figs the first time!
Pete

You know the score pete ,the figures are for the pair of you . My wife will be very happy that more junk is being chucked out , as she would put it . ( she forgets that broadside show is on this coming sunday )

Am aiming for a corps each side with 3 divisions of 3 brigades each plus guns plus a couple of brigades of cavalry . Obviously won't be able to paint it all at once so if pete wants to paint some more who am i to stop him

Gents,
If you ask nicely, Martin will undercoat the figures for you

Thanks to that lovely man martin , i now have the basis of 2 armies each with a cavalry division , 2 strong (or 3 weak ) infantry divisions and 5 batteries . What a very nice man he is ! The rules system works really nicely . I think i heard people asking about hiring the hall for a whole day at some point . ( i often hear things ) . I had better get painting

Steve,
We're hoping to hire the hall for a Sunday in November to have a War & Conquest day.
More details when they're available.

Re: 20mm plastic acw
Try not to do it at the weekend as I will be booking the hall out then for my new company greedy knot games. I will be hosting Magic and D and D nights and making no money from it whatsoever, it's a new idea I've come up with....

Just a progress report . Sort of a motivational tool for myself . Hoped to get a division a side ready for november when we have the hall for the day . Had set target to complete the first union division by the end of the month .remarkably though , apart from flags , it is ready now . Was going to then give myself 3 mönths to complete the confederate division . Pete suggested that if i give myself that long may not get round to doing it at all so have set revised target of a brigade or 2 batteries a fortnight . By keeping the targets small and " easy " to achieve i hope to keep the momentum going . When i look at what i have painted it looks like i am making good progress . When i look at what is left to do it doesn't look quite so good . Wonder if martin got round to acquiring the paint for all these acw figures and if so whether it is still lurking in a cupboard somewhere . First of the confederates undercoated . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Re: 20mm plastic acw
Steve,
If Martin is sorting out the undercoat you might only have enough to do 1 side of each figure

Have picked up the courage to actually count the number of figures i have undertaken to paint . Counting infantry as 1 , cavalry as 2 and a gun with crew and 2 horse limber as 12 , i have around 540 to paint . Amazingly i have now done 140 of them so only have ( gulp ) 400 to go . 140 sounds like quite a lot . 400 sounds a lot more . And i still need to get some more to get the armies to the size i eventually want . Sometimes i hate this hobby . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
