what games are happening around 20th march 2020 ?

was watching a programme about how wainwright planned to complete his walking guides to the lake district . he came up with a 13 year plan to complete and was just 1 week out

one of my big problems with this glourius hobby of ours is focus

i am going to try and use the forum to help me achieve some

in previous rants on the forum i have mentioned 10mm , weekend games, megablitz and el alamein.

i am setting myself a challenge to combine them all and stage el alamein in 10mm using megablitz over a weekend in 2020 as a sort of 60th birthday present to myself

by declaring this publicly i hope the combination of encouragement , ridicule and general piss taking that so many of you excell at will help keep me focussed

and if any of you want to move a few toys around and throw a few dice to help stage the game you will be more than welcome

if martin is reading this it gives him plenty of time to buy some figures and then sell them to me cheaply in time for the game

i have some minifigs , some pendraken and some pithead . they are not quite compatible with each other so would need to keep different manufacturers figures in different formations or get all the shermans ,for example, from one company so at least they would all be the same size

there is another range by skytrex which i haven,t checked out yet which are cheaper . would need to see if any good . and irregular miniatures do a small range too

finally in my effort to achieve "focus" i have managed to get my birthday wrong . doesn't look good . does it?

any one know a good way to make minefields ?

Air or artillery drop. Normally scatterable. BAR mine layer good for at mines.

But you have to watch the UN mandates these days.

And keep away from royal princesses as they kinda get all prissy about them.

thanks for reminding me about the political correctness . if i am going to lay some i will need to have some more stunt drivers patrolling underpasses

as i was trawling through the pithead catalogue i found myself being tempted by some of the larger tank models . i thought i might add one to my order just to see how big it actually is . i then found my self looking at what supporting elements i might need . and then what terrain i might need to purchase . i then remembered about my desert war project . and the other half dozen or so unfinished projects . i remember many many many years ago when there weren't many manufacturers wishing for a greater variety of wargames products . now i am not so sure it is a good idea as they prey on the weak and vulnerable (me) with their shiny offerings '
so far i have been strong , but if you hear me going on about these larger tanks please remind of the joys of the early ww2 tanks . thank you
