As some of you are aware I have made a couple of bits of scenery for young Phil.
I thought i'd share with you the building process of the 2 sets of terraced houses.
Its a bit picture heavy but it will hopefully give you an idea of the process I used.

So we start with 10mm high density foam.

The building of Coronation Street 1

Coat it in PVA glue and sand.

Stick all the walls together.

Put the roof on.

The building of Coronation Street 7

Tile the roof. This took a little while to do and I nearly lost the will to live half way through.

First lick of paint.

I ended up changing the colour of the bricks in the end to something a little more brown (those ones were a bit to "pink" for my liking).

I didn't take many pictures of the back yards but here they are virtually finished.

I wasn't sure how to do the windows at first so they were grey. I didn't like this but also didn't fancy painting all those windows.....

The building of Coronation Street Q

..... so I settled on this. I got a photo of the front of a house with sash windows. Took just the window from the picture and scaled it down to the right size. Then printed them out and stuck them in the holes. Didn't look too bad at all in my opinion.

The building of Coronation Street R

I don't know why but I didn't take any photo's of the terraces when I had finished them Shocked
So here are a couple of pics taken by others of the houses in use.

Phil

I think i got the foam from http://www.craftfoam.co.uk/ , quite a few years ago.

I got a big box of it. If you want a sheet (or 2) give me a shout and i'll bring a couple down for you. I've got quite a bit left from my original order.

If after that load of requests you have any foam left and maybe some cardboard ,dowling , balsa , flock , gravel and paint and can arrangement so the combined effect resembles an american town in the 1860's i might be interested ( hee hee ! )
